Watch Stuart Scott’s Heartbreaking Speech at the ESPYs [VIDEOS]

Longtime ESPN personality Stuart Scott literally took center stage at Tuesday night’s ESPY Awards when he accepted the Jimmy V Perseverance Award. And his speech did not disappoint.

Scott, who’s currently battling cancer, touched on the importance of never giving up, a lesson imparted famously by Jim Valvano over 20 years ago. He also spoke about his most recent hospital stay and the love he feels for his two daughters.

Whatever you may think of Scott, you have to appreciate his words.

It was part of an overall emotional evening. Michael Sam, who made headlines for revealing he’s gay, also received the Arthur Ashe Award. You can see his speech below:
