Voters Approve Three Tax Increases in Genesee County

Voters in Genesee County approved three tax increases on the ballot according to MLive, An animal shelter tax of 0.20 mils for seven years. It would expire in 2020. A millage for the Genesee County Parks was also approved with 55 percent of the vote. A current millage for the parks of 0.4847 was set to expire in 2016. The new millage is for 0.75 and for ten years. Finally a tax for the Mass Transportation Authority passed with 50 percent of the vote. This is a new, additional millage of 0.425 for five years and expires in 2019.
