Congressman Dan Kildee (MI-05) will travel to Israel and West Bank on Monday, August 5 to learn more about issues critical to the U.S. - Israel relationship and international security. The trip comes as U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry is set to begin formal peace talks between Israeli and Palestinian officials in the coming weeks.

While in the region, Kildee is expected to meet with Israel and Palestinian government officials including Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Palestinian President Maahmoud Abbas. Kildee will also meet with the U.S. Ambassador to Israel, Dan Shapiro.

The independent trip, which includes 36 other Members of Congress, is not paid for at taxpayer expense. The trip runs through Sunday, August 11.
