U.S. Rep. Dan Kildee Calls on Gov. Snyder, Michigan Republicans to Expand Medicaid
Michigan Congressman Dan Kildee (MI-05) has launched a new grassroots campaign that calls on Governor Rick Snyder and Michigan Republicans to immediately schedule a vote to expand Medicaid within the state.
The campaign is called “Leadership, Not Partisanship.” A website has been set up that features a citizens’ petition where Michiganders can join Kildee in calling on the state Senate to return from a two-month vacation to immediately take a vote on Medicaid expansion.
In an email Kildee said “Republicans in state government put extreme partisanship over common sense leadership, choosing to leave on a two-month vacation instead of doing the work of the people.”
The Michigan House of Representatives voted to expand Medicaid earlier this month, while the senate failed to take an up-or-down vote on the issue.
