The Detroit Tigers swept the Boston Red Sox on Sunday in dramatic fashion when Alex Avila hit a two-run walk off home run in the bottom of the 11th inning.

The final score of the Easter Sunday game was 13-12. Miguel Cabrera hit a three-run home in the ninth inning to send the game into extra innings. According to the Detroit News, the game lasted 4-hours, 45-minutes. The Tigers had led two times earlier in the game before falling behind. The led 4-0 and 5-2. Starter Max Scherzer was pulled in the third inning after Boston came back and went up 7-5. Duane Below got the win, his second in as many days.

The Tigers win was the first sweep of the Sox since 2007. The Tigers have today off before starting a series against Tampa Bay tomorrow.
