Three suspects are behind bars after a shootout with police on Tuesday night.

According to ABC 12, Flint Police Chief James Tolbert said the suspects were victims of a drive by shooting that happened Monday night. Tolbert said last night "is the result when you take the law into your own hands." Police were already investigating Monday night's shooting but the victims weren't cooperating. Police then received a call about possible retaliation. Officers were surveying the area of Orange Lane and Bellcreek around 9:45 when they approached a vehicle matching the description given. Three people were inside when the vehicle rammed the police officer's unmarked vehicle. The suspects then opened fire. Police fired back hitting two of the suspects who then exited the car and then ran. All three were under arrest a few minutes later. One suspect was taken directly to jail while the other two were treated for gun shot wounds first.
