A battle of unbeaten college football rivals highlights the sports calendar. Here’s what to watch this weekend:

Friday, November 1

Miami Heat at Brooklyn Nets

Barclays Center, Brooklyn; 8 p.m. (ET) on ESPN
The two-time defending NBA champion Miami Heat visit New York to face a restocked Brooklyn Nets team in the first weekend of play of the 2013-14 NBA season. LeBron James once again leads the Miami attack. Brooklyn guard Deron Williams is joined by former Celtics Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett in the Nets’ lineup this season.

Saturday, November 2

(21) Michigan at (22) Michigan State

Spartan Stadium, East Lansing, Mich.; 3:30 p.m. (ET) on ABC
Twenty-second-ranked Michigan State (7-1) hosts No. 21 Michigan (6-1) in a clash of Big Ten rivals. Running back Jeremy Langford leads the Spartans’ offense. Quarterback Devin Gardner paces the Wolverines’ attack.

(18) Oklahoma State at (15) Texas Tech

Jones AT&T Stadium, Lubbock, Texas; 7 p.m. (ET) on Fox
After suffering their first loss of the season against Oklahoma last week, No. 15 Texas Tech (7-1) hosts No. 18 Oklahoma State (6-1). Cowboys running back Desmond Roland will be a challenge for the Red Raiders’ defense. Freshman QB Davis Webb will lead the Texas Tech offense.

(7) Miami at (3) Florida State

Doak Campbell Stadium, Tallahassee; 8 p.m. (ET) on ABC
Third-ranked Florida State (7-0) welcomes No. 7 Miami (7-0) in a battle of undefeated teams. Quarterback Jameis Winston has been stellar for the Seminoles, while Stephen Morris has done an excellent job of leading the Hurricanes’ offense.

Sunday, November 3

Kansas City Chiefs at Buffalo Bills

Ralph Wilson Stadium, Orchard Park, N.Y.; 1 p.m. (ET) on ESPN
The Kansas City Chiefs (8-0) are the last NFL team without a blemish on their record this season. They’ll have to beat the Buffalo Bills (2-5) on the road to continue their winning streak. Quarterback Alex Smith and running back Jamaal Charles will lead the Chiefs against a Bills defense spearheaded by Mario Williams, who is on pace to set the NFL sack record this year.

AAA Texas 500

Texas Motor Speedway, Fort Worth, Texas ; 3 p.m. (ET) on ESPN
NASCAR’s best drivers will battle in Texas this Sunday. Matt Kenseth and Jimmie Johnson are tied atop the Sprint Cup Series standings as the 2013 Chase heads into its final three races. Jeff Gordon, Kevin Harvick and Kyle Busch round out the top five.

Indianapolis Colts at Houston Texans

Reliant Stadium, Houston; 8:30 p.m. (ET) on NBC
AFC South rivals Indianapolis (5-2) and Houston (2-5) face off in prime time. Colts quarterback Andrew Luck has been the key to the Indy offense in 2013. Texans QB Case Keenum will be making just his second start of the season for struggling Houston.
