With just over a week to go in their red kettle campaign, The Salvation Army of Genesee County needs your help!

The Salvation Army red kettles are filling up at a slower pace this year, however the need for services continues to climb. The Salvation Army of Genesee County says they are at 51 percent of their goal with only days remaining in the campaign. They say over 1,000 families applied for help this Christmas with toys, food and clothing through The Salvation Army. An additional 1,000 children have already received warm, winter coats with nearly 1,000 more to be distributed next week.

So next time you are out and about in Genesee County, have some spare change and see a bell ringer in front of a red kettle, drop it in there and know you have helped someone in need! You can also visit the The Salvation Army of Genesee County online at www.salarmygenesee.org to make a donation. Remember "it takes change, to make change happen."
