The Genesee Regional Chamber of Commerce TeenQuest program is offering no-cost pre-employment leadership training to Genesee County high school students ages 14 through 18 who are currently in grades 9 through 12. Applications are being accepted for the program.

The TeenQuest summer program is a four-week pre-employment and leadership training program designed to help Genesee County youth prepare for success for the future. The program starts on July 9 and concludes on August 2. Through TeenQuest students learn the basics of teamwork, business etiquette, work ethics, communication, goal setting and conflict resolution. The program is also a pre-requisite for employment through the Summer Youth Initiative (SYI), which matches employers with TeenQuest graduates for summer employment.

Genesee Regional Chamber CEO Tim Herman said "we are proud that TeenQuest grasuates are prepared to enter the work world with valuable, marketable skills. Participation in the program is an excellent growth opportunity for youth in the region."

Rhetta Hunyady, Regional Chamber Group Vice President of Operations and Employer Education and Training Connection says the employment opportunities available to TeenQuest graduates are one of many ways that students benefit from the program.

"TeenQuest graduates learn how to be leaders," said Hunyady. "The training provides critical skills needed for success in the workplace and life."
