There’s been a ton of rumors spreading around about the possibility of late-night talk show host Jimmy Fallon taking on the most prestigious awards show in the nation: the Oscars. But the rumors are now put to rest as Jimmy Fallon speaks up about the hosting job.

The 2012 Oscars was Emma Stone’s first time presenting an award and she was super excited. (We’re letting you know just in case you didn’t already get that from her bit.) You know who wasn’t revved up at all, though? Her co-presenter Ben Stiller.

The 2012 Oscars is that one night a year where no one wants to be on the worst dressed list. Despite all their efforts, however, there’s always those handful of stars that think they’re workin’ it when really Tim Gunn is rolling his eyes in the background.

After some negotiations, Sacha Baron Cohen’s Admiral Aladeen character from ‘The Dictator’ was allowed to attend the Oscars. And, not so surprisingly, it didn’t take long for him to cause trouble. During an interview with Ryan Seacrest, he managed to dump the ashes of recently deceased North Korean leader Kim Jong-II all over the ubiqitious host.

The 2012 Oscars managed to include the expected and shocks all at the same time. Odds on favorite, ‘The Artist’, won five awards including Best Picture, Best Actor for Jean Dujardin and Best Director for Michel Hazanivicius. But ‘Hugo’ gave it a run for its money, also bringing home five awards (though none in the major categories).

The Academy Awards are slated for Sunday evening. While you can catch the live broadcast on ABC at 7 p.m. ET, there’s no reason you can’t get into the spirit of Hollywood’s biggest night now. The Oscar nominations announced earlier today had some heads turning at the ‘Documentary Feature’ category as a couple of high profile blogs thought that ‘The Undefeated,’ the critically-panned Sarah Palin documentary, picked up a nod. Turns out, it was all a big coincidence.

Last week Eddie Murphy quit as 2012 Academy Award host and was quickly replaced by Billy Crystal, and apparently it was the right choice. According to a new survey from Poll Position, more people prefer Billy Crystal over Eddie Murphy when it comes to hosting the Oscars.
