Texas A&M Will Join the SEC in 2012

After weeks of rumors, Texas A&M is set to leave the Big 12 and to join the SEC, the league said on Sunday. The move will go into effect next July.

“We are excited to begin competition in the nation’s premier athletic conference,” Texas A&M President R. Bowen Loftin said in a statement.

Oklahoma sophomore receiver Kenny Stills had seven catches for 125 yards, including the eventual game-winner, a 37-yard jump ball reception for a touchdown with 7:00 to go in the fourth quarter.

Oklahoma Tops AP Football Poll for Record 100th Time

Oklahoma on Sunday became the first team ever to be ranked #1 in the AP football poll 100 times.

The Sooners were ranked #1 for the first time in 1954, the second year of Oklahoma’s NCAA-record 47-game winning streak, which lasted from 1953-1957. They have spent at least one week in the top spot in 19 different seasons.
