Legislature OKs Wine Tasting at Farmers Markets, Beer Refills at Restaurants

Legislation is on its way to the governor for final approval that would allow small winemakers to offer tastings and sell their wine at farmers markets.

According to WNEM, the bill passed through the Senate 37-0 and is set to be sent to Governor Rick Snyder. It will require winemakers wanting to do business at a farmers market to pay $25 for a permit.

Snyder Seeks Presidential Disaster Declaration to Assist 16 Counties in Wake of Recent Flooding

Governor Snyder has requested President Obama to declare a major disaster for the state of Michigan as a result of severe flood damage that occurred in 16 counties from April 16 to May 14.
