Suspect Charged in Slaying of Elderly Flint Man

Genesee County Prosecutor David Leyton has charged a Flint man with the murder of Sammie McBroom, a senior citizen believed to be in his 80s whose body was found in home on E. Genesee Street on Thursday morning.

Sampson Edward Marks, 53, of Flint, is charged with one count of felony murder and one count of armed robbery. Both counts are punishable with life sentences.

Marks is expected to be arraigned this weekend in 68th District Court and have a pre-trial conference and preliminary examination scheduled.
