There will be four special elections in three municipalities in Genesee County on February 24, 2015 according to a release from the Genesee County Clerk's Office.

Marijuana and millage rates are two of the proposals that will be before voters. According to MLive, the City of Montrose will decide whether to legalize the possession or transfer of less than an ounce of marijuana on private property, or transfer of less than one ounce by those 21 and older.

Additionally, residents in Grand Blanc will decide whether to renew the current schools millage rate for another five years and voters in Westwood Heights will have two proposals before them including a tax increase for its schools and whether to levy another 1 mill against all property in the district for another ten years.

Genesee County Clerk John Gleason expects a low turnout in the special elections and even less if there is inclement weather. He encourages absentee voting so people can come by and vote on a nice day saying "it is the greatest gift given as an American."
