The gallant extravagance of NBC’s 40th anniversary SNL special left us less-than-enthused for 50 Shades of Grey star Dakota Johnson to return us to normal this Saturday, but our first March host will verily bring the thunder. Thor himself, Chris Hemsworth will take the SNL stage as our March 7 host, but what musical accompaniment mayeth the Asgardian Avenger summon?

Per NBC’s latest announcement, Hemsworth will be joined by the Zac Brown Band on March 7, while Alabama Shakes will accompany the previously-announced Dakota Johnson this coming weekend. Both Hemsworth and Zac Brown will be making their SNL debuts.

Believe it or not, Hemsworth is actually the fourth Avenger to host SNL, following Scarlett Johansson’s three stints, Jeremy Renner’s 2012 hosting, and even Robert Downey Jr.’s 1996 outing, atop his brief run as a cast member. In addition to Michael Mann‘s Blackhat and the May Age of Ultron release, Hemsworth also has In the Heart of the Sea hitting theaters this December.

Granted it’s been done, we’d think the Avengers sketch to be a requisite of Chris Hemsworth’s first SNL hosting, but how else might the NBC sketch comedy mainstay utilize the God of Thunder alongside the Zac Brown Band on March 7? Will Dakota Johnson’s outing this weekend prove as whipped as we imagine, in the meantime?
