Charlize Theron's big return to the 'SNL' stage this past weekend mostly missed the mark, save for a few bizarre-enough-to-be-funny sketches, but this Saturday's season finale already has a few Golden Globes in its pocket. 'Brooklyn Nine-Nine' star Andy Samberg will make a long-awaited return to his 'SNL' roots to close out the season, and the first promo already feels like home.

The shorter-than-average spot sees Sambert paired with 'SNL''s current senior resident Kenan Thompson out in the gardens above 30 Rockefeller Plaza, taking in the sunshine as Samberg jokes with his former castmate about not remembering one another. Elsewhere, Samberg is seen riding high off his 'Brooklyn Nine-Nine' Golden Globe wins, and espousing a repeat fascination with the music of Bette Midler.

Samberg will make his hosting debut alongside musical guest St. Vincent, and hopefully we'll see a special guest or two make an appearance, even as this year's finale won't see anywhere near the amount of departures as in last year. And, hey, with Andy Samberg around, hopefully the Digital Shorts or the Lonely Island will be in play, or anything to keep the increasingly weird deleted scenes rolling, as in the below outing with Charlize Theron.

Take a look at the 'SNL' season finale with Andy Samberg above, and tell us in the comments what you want to see from Saturday's season closer!
