Smurfilicious spring

On nights when it gets below freezing I’ve been covering my blooming tulips with old sheets. I think I’ll stick to the plain colored ones, waking up to Smurfs all over the tulips is a little too weird.

Of course looking at those Smurfs makes me think of all the Smurf toys my kids used to collect, toys that are in now stashed in boxes in the basement, which makes me think that the basement needs to be cleaned, which makes me think of spring cleaning, which makes me wonder where I put the screens last winter, which reminds me of cleaning windows (which I hate) and that makes me remember that I was going to clean bathrooms today.

Life would have been easier if I just didn’t plant tulips.
