Flint's second "Operation: Fresh Start" event held earlier this week helped nearly 100 people according to MLive. More than 130 people attended the second round of the program, which was only for residents in the 48507 zip code. Nearly 30 of them went before Judge M. Cathy Dowd, clearing up 51 outstanding warrants. Almost 100 others received information and assistance for signing up for other programs. Flint Police Department Captain Collin Birnie said he thought "it went very well" and "these people can feel free to live their lives again." There are plans to hold more "Operation: Fresh Start" events in the future with the next one tentatively scheduled for November.
