‘The Rogue: Searching for the Real Sarah Palin,’ painted an unflattering portrait of the former Alaska Governor. Now Palin and her lawyer are striking back, threatening to sue the book’s author, Joe McGinniss, and his publisher for “knowingly publishing false statements.”

‘The Rogue’ features some serious allegations, including claims that Palin had used cocaine, was unfaithful  to her husband, Todd, and had one-night stand with basketball star Glen Rice before she was married.

In a letter to Crown Publishing, Palin attorney John Tiemessen alleges McGinniss had expressed skepticism about rumors pertaining to Palin’s personal life in an email to an Alaskan blogger — yet ended up including those rumors in ‘The Rogue,’ anyway.

“The final work that was published contains most of the stories that Mr. McGinniss complains were nothing more than ‘tawdry gossip’ that amounted to the wishful fantasies of disturbed individuals,” Tiemessen’s letter states.
