Representative Paul Scott - citing confusion among voters and election officials - is asking the Michigan Supreme Court to move the recall petition against him to the February election. Scott told Mlive "we're not trying to avoid the recall at all" but believes "the process is now tainted" and there's "clear confusion."

Scott filed a motion on Friday with the Michigan Supreme Court asking for immediate consideration that the recall election be held on February 28, 2012. That's the first regularly scheduled election date and is also the date of the Republican presidential primary in Michigan.
