Relief Effort Announced for Families Affected by Atlas Township Tornado

This coming Saturday, volunteers from across Michigan will be converging on Atlas Township to help cleanup yards and homes damaged from last week's tornado.

Many homes, families and businesses were affected by the EF-2 rated tornado that ripped through the township leaving a path of destruction. Volunteers have been calling wanting to assist the families affect, however, more are still needed. Those wanting to help with yard cleanup can meet at Atlas Township Hall located at 7386 S. Gale Rd. They are asked to bring equipment and wear clothes appropriate to help with yard cleanup, tree removal, and planting new plants and shrubbery.
