The Boston Red Sox won last night against the Detroit Tigers 6-3. Not even having Justin Verlander on the mound helped the Tigers who lost for the second time to the Red Sox. According to the Detroit News, Verlander gave up more then four runs for just the third time in his last 63 starts.

The Tigers got their runs from solo home runs by Prince Fielder and Jhonny Peralta. Fielder also drove in another RBI in the seventh off of former Tiger Andrew Miller.

The game was delayed for 38 minutes due to rain. After the game, the Tigers announced they would send Ryan Rayburn down to Toledo. Rayburn has been struggling and is hitting just .146 for the season. The Tigers didn't announce who they will call up to replace Rayburn on the roster. For now, Ramon Santiago and Danny Worth will platoon at second.

The Tigers take on Boston again tonight.
