Kids today. They sure know their texting.

Marcel Fernandes, 16, set a world record for fastest texting when he composed a 25-word paragraph in 18.19 seconds. The Brazilian smashed the previous record for the same paragraph, which had  previously been done in 18.44 seconds.

Marcel went into the record books using the keyboard app Fleksy. The above video is really just a commercial for the app, but you also get a look at some of his fancy finger work.

In case you're curious, here's the paragraph Marcel had to write:

The razor-toothed piranhas of the genera Serrasalmus and Pygocentrus are the most ferocious freshwater fish in the world. In reality they seldom attack a human.

Yeah, it doesn't make sense to us, either.
