A public comment period is underway for the Genesee County 2040 Long Range Transportation Plan.

According to the Genesee County Metropolitan Planning Commission (GCMPC), the plan "identifies deficiencies in transportation system in Genesee County over the next 25 years and proposes strategies and projects to help address those deficiencies."

The GCMPC has completed a draft version of the plan which is currently available for public comment. A 30-day window began earlier this month and concludes on Wednesday, January 7, 2015. A public hearing for the 2040 LRTP will also be held that day from 4-6 p.m. in the Harris Auditorium located on the third floor of the Genesee County Administration Building.

Copies of the draft Summary Document are available at local city, township or village offices and can also be found at the Flint Public Library, Genesee District Library, Genesee County Road Commission, Mass Transportation Authority and the Michigan Department of Transportation Service Center in Davison. The GCMPC also has copies available.
