A proposed natural gas line will no longer run through parts of Genesee County after an announcement came today from ET Rover. According to a news release, a capacity arrangement between Rover Pipeline, LLC and Vector Pipeline will eliminate the need for Rover to build its pipeline through Michigan's Shiawassee, Genesee, Lapeer, Oakland, St. Clair and Macomb Counties. Rover says its part of their efforts to minimize the project's footprints while remaining consistent with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission's guidelines and expectations which encourages companies to evaluate alternative routes that maximize the use of existing utilities. Through this new agreement, Rover will eliminate 110 miles of pipeline in Michigan and will eliminate the Canadian portion entirely.
