The public is invited to a community reception for Claressa Shields and FWC-Berston Boxing. Proceeds from the event, to be held at Wize Guys Pizza in Flint, will go to support FWC-Berston Boxing training and travel costs for the upcoming international events.

Bobby Mukkamala, co-owner of Wize Guys Pizza and 501 Bar and Grill, said "we are so proud to support Claressa as she works hard towards her goal of an Olympic Gold Medal. We are privileged to have such a strong role model for our youth--and adults for that matter."

Flint Mayor Dayne Walling added "this is an opportunity for all of us to put Flint in a positive light on the international stage and help Flint's youth fulfill their dreams."

The fundraiser takes place on Wednesday, April 18th at Wize Guys Pizza from 5-7 p.m. Wize Guys is located at 500 S. Saginaw Street in downtown Flint. Tickets are $25 per person at the door and include pizza and pop.

Those who can't make the pizza party but would still like to donate to the FWC-Berston boxing club, can send a check made out to "FWC-Berston" and mail it to: FWC-Berston, Attn: Jason Crutchfield, 6196 Magnolia Drive, Mt. Morris, MI 48458.

FWC-Berston Field House is a non-profit organization offering free boxing programs to anyone eight or older. The goals of their program are strength, conditioning, focus, self confidence and discipline for the community.
