As of today, One World Trade Center will become the tallest building in New York, retaking the title from the Empire State Building according to Fox News.

Workers will erect steel columns to make it a little over 1,250 feet tall, which makes it just enough to peek over the Observation Deck at the Empire State Building.

One World Trade Center isn't scheduled to reach it's fullest height for at least another year. Formerly called the "Freedom Tower," One World Trade Center is being built to replace the Twin Towers destroyed in the September 11, 2001 attacks.
