President Obama visited the Flint Food Bank on Wednesday where he drank from a glass of filtered Flint water.

While visiting the Flint Food Bank President Obama drank from a glass of filtered Flint water and encouraged residents to start drinking filtered water instead of bottled water. Obama did however state that there are expectations for pregnant women and children under 6.

"If you're using a filter then Flint water at this point is drinkable." - President Obama

Obama also stated that although he believes the filtered water is safe to drink, it doesn't mean Flint's lead service lines don't need to be replaced. Obama also stated that replacing the lines could take two years or even longer.

"I want everybody in the city of Flint to just know you should have your child checked." - President Obama

The President also stated that he discussed Medicaid expansion that would add health coverage for 14,000 children and 1,000 pregnant women.

Obama also said that people aren't going to know if the water is safe to drink if residents don't flush the water out. Working with the EPA, Obama has started a new program called 'Flush For Flint'
