A man accused of going on a stabbing spree in Flint during the summer of 2010 will face no additional trials.

According to WNEM, Genesee County Prosecutor David Leyton suspended two murder cases and six attempted murder cases against Elias Abuelazam. Leyton said the additional trials would have cost hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Abuelazam was convicted of first degree murder earlier this year and was sentenced to life in prison without parole. With that conviction, Abuelazam is automatically entitled to an appeal which is in the early stages.

An attempted murder case against Abuelazam is also pending in Ohio.
