The Michigan State Police (MSP) have announced that McConnie Baker Jr., who was wanted for the 2012 murder of his brother Michael Demetrus Veal, was arrested on Wednesday.

Just before midnight Wednesday, a Flint police officer was on patrol in the area of Marquette and Tiffin Streets. The area had been experiencing burglaries and thefts from automobiles. The Flint police officer observed Baker behaving suspiciously around a parked vehicle. He ten walked to the back door of a nearby residence and when a security light came on, fled the scene. A short time later he was apprehended by police.

Baker initially provided a false name when arrested, but further investigation revealed his true identity. He has been lodged at the Flint City Jail for a  three count felony warrant for homicide, a three count felony warrant for carrying a concealed weapon, and a misdemeanor traffic warrant.
