Police have arrested a man for drunk driving after residents around Sleeping Bear Dunes noticed dozens of empty wine bottles being tossed on the side of the road.

The National Park Service Rangers at Sleeping Bear Dunes and conservation officer Mark Hopkins stopped caught the suspect after sitting in the woods around the time when the littering regularly occurred. Hopkins notified the rangers after seeing the driver litter and rangers conducted a traffic stop.

The driver has been charged with drunk driving and cited for littering.
