Wait...the state is actually passing the savings down to US? Are they high??

It's actually going to cost you LESS to get a medical marijuana card in Michigan than ever before, and that's because the program has made SO MUCH MONEY that they're going to lower the cost and eliminate certain fees.

Yes, you read that correctly. The state actually admitted that the program costs less to run than they thought and they're going to lower OUR costs.

A two-year medical marijuana card is going down from $60 to $40. And the fees for a criminal background check for caregivers ($25) and to change your address ($10) will be eliminated completely.

LARA (Licensing and Regulatory Affairs) has said that the profit versus cost is 90-100% and that they'll reduce the above costs for at least five years. The price cut will go into effect later this year.

So, if you're a math dummy like me, think of it like this: for every $1 the state spends to run the medical marijuana program, they're making close to $2.

Rock on, MMJ Michigan.
