Man Charged in Shooting Death of his Brother
Genesee County Prosecutor David Leyton has charged a Flint man with murder related to the shooting death of the man's brother.
McConnie Baker, 28, is charged with Open Murder, Assault with Intent to Murder and Felony Firearm after a police investigation indicated he shot his brother, Michael Veal, for allegedly failing to return another brother home on time. The other brother is allegedly on a tether.
The police investigation alleges that McConnie and Michael were arguing about their other brother not getting home on time when McConnie left. He later came back with a gun and shot Michael in front of Michael's teenage son and other family members. Other witnesses transported Michael to Hurley Medical Center where he died from his gunshot wounds.
