Genesee County Prosecutor David Leyton charged a Flint man yesterday with murder in Monday's fatal shooting on Flint's north side.

Tyree Darius Austin, 17, is lodged in the Genesee County Jail on charges of: Open Murder, Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Felony Firearm, and Possession of Marijuana.

On Monday, February 27, just after 3:30 p.m., Flint Police were dispatched to a residence on Orange Lane regarding a shooting that had just occurred. When they arrived, police found 20-year-old Anthony Earl Allen of Flint in the rear seat of a car bleeding and suffering from several gunshot wounds. Allen died from his wounds.

Based on witness statements and upon further investigation, police apprehended and arrested Austin for the murder of Allen.

Leyton said "here we get a verdict back on another murder case only to have to turn right around and issue charges in yet another homicide. The violence just doesn't stop."

Allen is scheduled to be arraigned in 68th District Court where a pre-trial and preliminary examination will be scheduled.
