The Karegnondi Water Authority showed off a new boring machine that will begin drilling into Lake Huron as part of the new water pipeline project that will bring higher-quality water to Flint and Genesee County residents.

The machine is the first of its kind, costs $4.4 million and is German-made. It is expected to lowered into a shaft on Tuesday when it will begin drilling 1.5 miles into Lake Huron.
