A $1 millon grant was announced by Kettering University and the City of Flint on Tuesday. According to NBC 25, the Department of Justice grant will be used to help create a safe, walkable place for the community between the Kettering campus and downtown Flint. Kettering University President Robert McMahan said they want students and faculty and members of the community "to feel free to walk between the university and downtown and all the great things that are happening in the Saginaw Street area." McMahan added that they are still in the planning stages and don't yet know what the project will entail.
