Genesee County Prosecutor David Leyton has announced a jury has convicted a Flint man in last summer's shooting death of another man in a McDonald's restaurant parking lot.

Dantrelle Dante Conerly, 24, was convicted Wednesday afternoon of second degree murder and three related gun charges in the July 2, 2012 shooting death of Marcus Payne, 41 of Flint Township.

Payne was shot several times just after 2:00 a.m. after getting into an argument with Conerly near the drive-thru window at the McDonald's restaurant located on Ballenger Highway near Flushing Road in Flint Township. Police responded to the scene of a reported disorderly person and found Payne lying in the parking lot with multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to Hurley Medical Center where he died.

A sentencing date for Conerly has been scheduled for August 26 in the Genesee County courthouse.
