Barnett Jones resigned his position as Flint's Public Safety Administrator this morning amid questions of him being employed at the same time with the City of Detroit.

The Detroit Free Press reports that Jones was also working as the head of security for Detroit Water and Sewerage Department since May of 2012. He had been hired on as public safety administrator for Flint by then-Emergency Manager Michael Brown just the prior month.

Many residents of Flint were questioning the hiring and the role for Jones at the time. Jones received a three-year contract worth $130,000 annually. What was unclear was how his role would impact that of Flint Police Chief Alvern Lock. The two appeared together later in the year to present a new public safety plan for the City of Flint.

This is a developing story...
