Every time I log on to Facebook this week I see picture after picture of my friends dressing their children up for spirit week. Remember the week before the Homecoming game in school where you got to dress up for a different theme each day? I feel like the spirit days have changed over the years. When I was in school we had themes like crazy hair day, and twin day. I'm seeing kids dressed up in 80s garb and in their pajamas at school.

I wish we had a spirit week at work. It could be great for team building, and it is always fun to dress up for a theme regardless of your age. If I planned a spirit week for my office, this is how I would do it.

Monday: Monday would obviously be pajama day. We are all tired on a Monday morning, but there would be no excuse for being late for the Monday morning meeting if you didn't have to pick out an outfit. Plus, if you are in pajamas you are warm and cozy all day in your freezing office.

Tuesday: For Tuesday's theme you wouldn't have to dress up, but there would be an endless supply of tacos. Nothing brings an office together like bonding over free food, and tacos are arguably the best food ever.

Wednesday: Using a theme I have seen my friends post about, decade day. Maybe we would put a spin on it though, and have everyone dress up as the decade they graduated from High School.

Thursday: Another one you see in schools, favorite sports team day. As adults, we are probably a little more passionate about our favorite sports teams and it would be fun to see who your coworkers will be cheering for that weekend.

Friday: We would wrap up the week with bring your pet to work day. Who wouldn't want a bunch of cats and dogs in the office all day? I have two Savannah cats that I would love to bring to work with me one day. It probably wouldn't be the most productive day in the office, but are Friday's the most productive day anyway?

What would you like the spirit days to be in your office? If you have the coolest boss ever, you might be able to have a wine tasting Wednesday. How much would a few wine samples at lunch really affect the work day anyway?
