On Friday, the families of Michigan organ donors will be among those attending the unveiling of a new Memory Wall at Hurley Medical Center. The memorial wall, the first of its kind in the region, will include photos of organ donors and will be located in the corridor adjacent to Hurley Medical Center's chapel on the ground floor.

The Gift of Life Foundation provided the funding for the project. The foundation is a separate organization that supports Gift of Life Michigan. The Foundation wanted to reflect the collaboration between Hurley Medical Center, Gift of Life and all donation partners, and to give hope to those both within the state and nationally that need a life-saving organ transplant.

Hurley Medical Center was among the hospitals recognized nationally in October 2012 for outstanding accomplishments in organ donation.

The unveiling ceremony will take place at 10 a.m. in the Main Lobby.
