The Genesee Towers may have a new purpose, dubbed 'Flint Media Towers'. The Flint Chapter of Architects sponsored a design contest for re-purposing the downtown high-rise. The winner went to Detroit/California based OSI Architecture, reports mlive.com. Find out more after the jump.

The 'Flint Media Towers' would be host to residential housing, retail shops and a media center for area students. OSI Architecture representative states:

" 'We tried to take a larger view of the city and almost make a city center," said architect Mark Levine, who is based in California.

A main portion of the building would be a media lab for students and entrepreneurs. It would have all the latest computer technology where people could develop ideas, Levine said."
