The Genesee Regional Chamber of Commerce (GRCC) has seen a significant uptick in its membership for the third consecutive year. The GRCC closed 2012 with 1,009 members making it one of the largest and most active business organizations in the state.

According to Tim Herman, CEO of the GRCC, three years of positive growth is a great accomplishment. In a statement, Herman said "given the economic and fiscal challenges that businesses have faced over the past four years, many chambers are losing members versus gaining new members. Due to our portfolio of services, our relationships and our commitments to understanding the business needs of our members, we've managed to achieve year-over-year increases in membership."

According to the Michigan Chamber of Commerce, there are over 300 chambers of commerce in Michigan. According to Bob Thomas, Senior Director of Operations of the Michigan Chamber Foundation, "the Genesee Regional Chamber of Commerce is among the top ten largest chambers in the state measured by revenue and number of members."

As the principal economic development organization serving Flint and Genesee County, the Regional Chamber collaborates with its members and other public and private partners to grow the number of jobs and investment in the community.
