Genesee Early College will host an information night this month for students and their parents interested in enrolling for the 2014-15 academic year.

The Genesee Intermediate School District operates the Genesee Early College (GEC) which is located on the University of Michigan - Flint campus. GEC is an intensive, state of the art, five-year school that combines the best elements of high school and early university experiences. The curriculum places special emphasis on skills and academic achievement necessary for careers in health.

The students at GEC are committed to academic excellence and the exploration of health and related careers. Not only are students involved in activities at the school, but they are also involved in academic pursuits at area hospitals. GEC students begin with high school level courses and when they reach their junior year, they dual enroll at UM-Flint, earning to 60 free transferable college credits. These experiences give GEC students an accelerated path to securing careers in the health field.

The GEC Early College Information night will be held on Wednesday, April 30th from 6 to 8 p.m. at UM-Flint in the William S. White building located at 509 N. Harrison Street in downtown Flint.
