Genesee County Prosecutor David Leyton announced charges today (Friday) against a woman in the shootings of two women working at a Grand Blanc apartment complex.

According to a news release, 54-year-old Jacquelyne Faye Tyson is charged with shooting Tamara Johnson, 45, and Lyric work, 20, on Tuesday while the two were working in their office at Grand Oaks Apartments. Witnesses reported a woman had shot two women in the head around 3:45 p.m. Tuesday afternoon. When authorities arrived, one officer observed Tyson outside the office and clubhouse building and saw her throw what appeared to be a handgun into a bush before raising both hands in the air and lying on the ground. She was arrested without further incident. Officers then went inside and discovered Johnson and Work lying on the floor with gunshot wounds. Both were transported to Hurley Medical Center where Johnson was pronounced dead and Work was put on life support to deliver her baby.

Tyson, who was a resident of Grand Oaks Apartments, is charged with first degree premeditated murder, assault with intent to murder and two counts of a felony firearm. She's currently being held in the Genesee County jail and is expected to be arraigned on the charges this morning in 67th District Court.
