On March 12, the Genesee County Regional Spelling Bees were held for students in Grades 7,11, and 12, at the Genesee Intermediate School District's Davis Education Center. Winners in countywide, grade-level competition were:

Grade 7: The final word spelled correctly was "exhibited."

First Place went to Bilal Tarar of Genesee Academy. Second Place went to Ally Moors of Goodrich Middle School. Third Place went to Lisa Kim of Grand Blanc East Middle School.

Grade 11: The final word spelled correctly was "judicious."

First Place went to Kori Wright of Flushing High School. Second Place went to Angela Todd of Lake Fenton High School. Third Place went to Joel McCallister of Carman-Ainsworth High School.

Grade 12: The final word spelled correctly by the winner was "rutherford."

First Place went to Trevonne Harden of Southwestern Academy. Second Place went to Alissa Lyon of Flushing High School. Third Place went to Terrance Staples of Beecher High School.
