Something to think about the next time you drive across one: a new report says bridges in Genesee County are second worst in the state.

According to ABC 12, the report came from the Michigan Infrastructure and Transportation Association. The organization said that of the 371 bridges in the county, 165 of them are structurally deficient or obsolete.

Wayne County came in first for worst bridges in the state and Saginaw County placed in the bottom five. Researchers said state legislators need to develop a long-term, stable source of funding for road and bridge repairs.

Could be perfect timing as the Michigan House is reportedly voting on a $500 million package today for road funding.
