A policy change is in effect for the Genesee County Animal Control after the Genesee County Board of Commissioners voted to end the shelter's "no kill" policy.

The "no kill" policy had been in effect for less than two months. The new policy will allow for euthanizing animals at the owners request, of for what the shelter deems "humane reasons" such as injury or public health concerns.
