The Friends of the Flint River Trail are hosting a "Ride of Silence" tonight. They will join with hundreds of other cycling groups across the nation to honor cyclists killed or hurt in vehicle accidents in the past year. The annual event also seeks to bring more awareness of cyclists to motorists and encourage them to "share the road."

Rides will meet at the Flint Farmers Market beginning at 6:45 p.m. The ride will begin "in silence" promptly at 6:55 p.m.

The ride through the City of Flint will be less than 10 miles in length and includes the campuses of Mott Community College and University of Michigan - Flint.
