Fourth of July Travelers Will Find Gas Prices Down Almost 20 Cents

Jason Cooper, WFNT

The nearly 1.4 million Michigan motorists that will be traveling this July 4th holiday will find the state’s average gas price down 19.7 cents this week.

According to AAA Michigan, the current statewide average is just under $3.45 per gallon, down 80 cents since the near record high of $4.24 per gallon in early June.

Gas prices in and around the Flint area are even lower than the state average with prices hovering around $3.34 per gallon. The only other area with a lower average is Traverse City at $3.29 per gallon.

AAA surveys 2,800 Michigan gas stations daily. For more information, visit www.fuelgaugereport.com. To find the cheapest gas nationwide, go to AAA.com and look for AAA Fuel Price Finder.
