A former police Chief for the city of Romulus, and a group of six others, were charged by Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy today in running a scheme in which drug forfeiture money was used to pay for prostitutes, marijuana and alcohol.

According to the Detroit News, former police chief Michael St. Andre, 50, faces 10 charges including conducting and maintaining a criminal enterprise after a near three year investigation by the Michigan State Police. He faces up to 20 years in prison if convicted on the most serious charges. Also charged was his wife, Sandra Vlaz-St. Andre for her alleged role along with five Romulus officers.

St. Andre was a 28 year veteran of the Romulus police department. He had announced his retirement September 14th. Today was to be his last day.
